Following Jury Trial, Client acquitted on all counts: including Aggravated Burglary, Vehicle Burglary and Felony Theft

Dillon’s client was charged with multiple serious felonies, including Aggravated Burglary, Vehicle Burglary, and Theft. At the end of a hard-fought, multi-day jury trial, the jury found the client not guilty on all counts.

Felony Charge of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon reduced to Misdemeanor probation prior to trial 

Dillon’s client was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, a Class B Felony. In Tennessee, Class B felonies carry a range of punishment between 8 and 30 years. After the State insisted on sending the client to prison, Dillon and his client set the case for a jury trial. Days before trial, following an aggressive defense on Dillon’s part, the State offered to resolve the client’s case with probation on a Class A Misdemeanor. 

Felony Commercial Sex Trafficking charge reduced to Class B Misdemeanor

Dillon’s client was charged with a very serious commercial sex trafficking offense, and was facing decades in prison. The client maintained his innocence to the charge and Dillon believed in his client. After Dillon argued the evidence and the client’s position to the State, the State agreed that law enforcement had over-charged the client. The State ultimately agreed to resolve the case with probation on a Class B Misdemeanor. 

Aggravated Domestic Assault charges dismissed following negotiation with State 

Dillon's client was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault. After reviewing the evidence and zealously advocating for the client, the Stare agreed to dismiss the case. 

Aggravated Arson, a Class A Felony, reduced to Misdemeanor Reckless Burning following effective courtroom advocacy

Dillon's client was accused of Aggravated Arson, a Class A felony. In Tennessee, Class A felonies carry a sentence of 15-60 years in prison. Dillon identified serious issues with the State's case, and understood the case was severely overcharged. To fight for his client, Dillon filed motions on his client's behalf, which he argued before the judge. After the motion hearing, the State agreed that the case was overcharged. The client's charge was then reduced to Reckless Burning, a Class A Misdemeanor. 

Multiple counts of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon dismissed by agreement with the State. 

Dillon's client was charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon. Although the client was acting in self-defense, the client was still arrested and charged with serious felonies. These felonies carried the possibility of significant prison time. After reviewing all the discovery and telling the client's side of the story to the State, all charges against the client were dismissed. The client was then able to expunge their record.

First Degree Murder reduced to Second Degree Murder, sparing Client a potential life sentence 

Dillon's client was charged with First Degree Murder. In Tennessee, a conviction for First Degree Murder carries an automatic life sentence. Dillon reviewed the evidence extensively, and filed multiple motions on the client's behalf, including a motion to suppress. The case was set for a jury trial. Before the case could proceed to trial, the State agreed to reduce the charge to Second Degree Murder. Through this reduction, the client avoided the possibility of spending life in prison, and received a significantly lesser sentence. 

Client acquitted of Aggravated Domestic Assault after Jury Trial. Convicted only of lesser Misdemeanor. 

Dillon's client was accused of Aggravated Domestic Assault. Following a robust defense presented at trial, the jury acquitted the client of Aggravated Domestic Assault. The client was only convicted of a lesser Misdemeanor charge. This saved the client from becoming a convicted felon and facing the possibility of years in prison. 

Felony Drug Charge Reduced to Misdemeanor, resulting in Client's release from custody 

Dillon's client was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Drug with Intent for Resale, a Class B Felony. In Tennessee, Class B felonies carry a punishment of 8-30 years in prison. Dillon challenged the State's claim, showing that the client possessed narcotics for personal use rather than resale. Following a hearing, the Judge reduced the client's charge to Simple Possession, a Class A Misdemeanor, and the client was released from custody.

Felony First Degree Murder reduced to lesser Felony charge with probation

Dillon's client was charged with Felony First Degree Murder, which carries a life sentence if convicted. The client was accused of aiding a group of individuals perpetrate a premeditated murder. Dillon thoroughly reviewed all the discovery, interviewed witnesses, and identified evidence that reduced the client's culpability. The State ultimately agreed to reduce the client's case to a lesser felony, which ensured the client did not serve a life sentence in prison. With the negotiated lesser felony, the client was released from custody on probation. 

Client acquitted of Rape & Aggravated Kidnapping following Jury Trial. Convicted on lesser offenses. 

Dillon's client was charged with Rape and Aggravated Kidnapping. Aggravated Rape and Aggravated Kidnapping are both Class B felonies. In Tennessee, Class B felonies carry a range of punishment between 8-30 years in prison. Additionally, under Tennessee law, Rape and Aggravated Kidnapping convictions are not eligible for probation. The client decided to take his case to trial. Following a jury trial, the client was acquitted of Rape and Aggravated Kidnapping, and was convicted of lesser-offenses. The lesser-offenses for which the client was convicted carried significantly lower sentences and were probation eligible.

Client acquitted of Obstructing a Roadway following a Jury Trial 

Dillon's client was arrested and charged with obstructing a roadway by local police while engaging in constitutionally protected conduct. Because the client did not commit a crime, they refused to take any plea offer. Dillon respected his client’s fortitude and believed in the client's innocence. Following a jury trial, and the client was acquitted on all counts.
